What are some things to do and places to visit while in Richmond, VA?

We have curated a list of recommended activities and attractions in Richmond, VA.

  • Kings Dominion - AMAZING fun for everyone with more than 60 rides, shows, attractions, a kids area, and a waterpark. The amusement park hours are 11 am - 10 pm and the waterpark hours are 12 pm - 7 pm. (24 miles from hotel)
  • Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (10 am – 9 pm) Experience a world-class art museum with hometown hospitality. You will find a remarkable permanent collection of more than 50,000 works of art from almost every major world culture. General admission to the museum is always free. The cost for ticketed special exhibitions varies. (3 miles from the hotel)
  • Virginia Museum of History & Culture (10 am – 5 pm) Explore the rich history of Virginia through engaging exhibits, artifacts, and interactive displays. Admission is free for members and children under 6, with a suggested donation for others. (3 miles from the hotel)
  • Carytown is a vibrant, walkable 9-block shopping and dining district, often called the "mile of style." Located along W Cary Street, it features over 230 local boutiques, restaurants, and the historic 1928 Byrd Theatre. It is known for its eclectic, bohemian atmosphere and a high concentration of locally-owned businesses. (3.1 miles from hotel)

Should I bring a swimsuit to the picnic?

Yes! If you are planning to cool off during the Saturday picnic, don't forget your swimsuit. We will have several water activities, including:

  • A large inflatable bounce slide with a splash pool at the bottom
  • A toddler splash pool
  • Sprinklers

We also recommend bringing a towel and a change of clothes for the ride back to the hotel.

What are the hotel parking options?

Hotel Valet Parking

Self-parking is not available at the Hilton Richmond Downtown. Guests may use hotel valet parking with reunion code BFR to receive the following fixed daily rates:

  • Standard-size vehicles: $48 per day
  • Oversized vehicles: $58 per day
